This is a very popular sport at Wilvaken. We have developed a program that follows along the similar levels as the Canadian Yachting Association.
Our fleet comprises of Mistral 404s, CL14, Tanzer 14 and a Y-flier. This is a great lake for sailing on and we can watch the sailors very easily from our cove.
We incorporate fun sailing along with learning wind directions, knots and general care of boats and many other aspects of sailing.
At least several times during the summer we do a sailing trip to end of the lake and back and also try to have a sailing race. This is all weather dependant of course.
As a remedy against stubbed toes, we suggest a pair of sneakers or other light soft soled water shoes that will dry easily. These will protect feet. Sandals or Crocs are not appropriate.
