Out-Trips

out-trips

Out-tripping is open to all campers; however our 3 – 4 day trips are normally reserved for campers aged 13 and older. Trips are organized either by cabin groups (day trips or overnights), or with groups of campers who have similar strengths and capabilities.

Two staff members over the age of 18 are sent with each group. One staff member must have life-guard qualification if they will be canoeing. For hiking, staff must have their first aid qualification. A CIT (Counsellor-In-Training) usually accompanies the group.

Out-trips are a part of the camp program in which any camper may participate, unless the camp administration has been advised of medical or other restrictions. Campers who may be interested in going on a trip should review the suggested trip packing list (available on our documents page ) for an idea of what they should bring to camp.

There are no more than 8 campers per trip (hiking or canoeing) for the extended trips. Campers will be asked on arrival day if they are interested in going on a trip.

Depending on the nature and destination of the trip, there may be a charge of $50 - $75 to cover the cost of transportation, and provincial or federal park fees.
