Situated in the beautiful Eastern Townships of Quebec, Wilvaken has a lovely waterfront and 100 acres of land on Lake Lovering – including our own island. As many of our staff and campers say, “Wilvaken has some of the most beautiful sunsets at the beach - it's wonderful!”.
Our water front is private and has distinct areas for the various water activities offered at camp. We have a natural bay where our sail boats are moored and docks are kept for water-skiing, sailing and canoeing. Windsurfing is done right from the beach. Swimming has its own special area as well with an enclosure that makes it easy for our swim staff to life-guard.
Wilvaken has a doubles clay tennis court with a basketball net beside it. We also have a badminton net option. Beside the tennis court is our playing field for the various field sports. The Archery and Riflery activities are held in out of the way areas that are kept separate from other activities.
An excellent riding facility, with an indoor arena as well as outdoor rings, is a popular focal point for our riders. Instruction is provided in English equitation under the direction of a coach. (This activity is an option at additional cost for those participating.)
Wilvaken is proud to have kept the forest and natural environment pristine throughout all the years of its existence. Nature lovers can explore the forest, lake, field and swamp habitats.
Our boys' and girls' cabins are in distinct areas, nestled in the woods. Cabins (with electricity) accommodate 8-10 children and a counsellor. Toilets and showers are separate facilities with running water.
Our main Wilvaken lodge is where we eat and meet during the day or evening. It is the central point of the camp and was constructed in 1958. It has a beautiful stone fireplace and plaques on the walls listing all the campers and staff of every year since 1990.
